Geriatric Education and Training Center

Overview

The Geriatric Education and Training Center (GETC) is based at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Drawing from the expertise of Harvard Medical School, it's teaching hospitals, and affiliated national professional organizations, the center provides educational and training programs to physicians providing direct services and care to older people worldwide.

As global aging is becoming the imminent reality for most parts of the world, the fundamental challenge facing many service individuals and institutions is to create effective, comprehensive, affordable, and culturally appropriate care for the rapidly growing aging community. We believe that the best way to meet this challenge is to encourage these individuals and institutions to improve their service capacity; to expand their knowledge and skill repertoire; to integrate evidence-based science into their routine practice; to collaborate with their strategic alliances; and to ensure the participation of elderly people and their families in the service delivery and improvement process.

GETC Education Program

Through collaboration with MEI, Incorporated the GETC offers physicians from across South Korea the opportunity of undertaking intensive educational studies in geriatric medicine. Our program aims to provide practicing professional with comprehensive, up-to-date material, highly relevant to their practice of medical services. Upon completion of the course, the student or trainee will receive a certificate issued by the Geriatric Education and Training Center.
