In 2002, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) awarded Nine Targeted Capacity Expansion (TCE) grants intended to help communities provide direct services and to build the necessary infrastructure to support expanded services for meeting the diverse mental health needs of older persons.
The nine TCE grantee programs, or “sites” are located throughout the country and are committed to expanding their capacity and the quality of mental health services that they provide to their aging consumers. These model service programs work closely with the Positive Aging Resource Center (PARC) to develop a systematic process for transferring knowledge about research, best practices, and policies to assist in the development and implementation of evidence-based, culturally competent, and financially sustainable service programs.
Read about each of the nine PARC sites below and learn what they are doing to advance evidence based practice in their programs.
